With a website, a Facebook Page, an Instagram page, and email and WhatsApp, contacting me is easy to do and I find I get a range of questions from women wanting help. Some of the questions are unique, many are common, so I thought I would cover the questions I get asked most weeks in this blog.

You can also find an FAQ section on my new website for other questions you may have.

I have some post pregnancy issues, can you help?

In short, yes, even if it’s not ME directly helping you, one of my biggest passions is educating and supporting women, so if it’s a postnatal issue which needs help from a different health professional, I will guide you to that professional. In terms of what I provide, I will complete a full pre-screen to understand what help you are needing and either offer you that help or direct you to, for example, a Women’s Health Physio, if required. I provide postnatal expertise ranging from pelvic floor issues, Diastasis Recti, C-Section Recovery including Scar Massage therapy.

I’m looking for a regular exercise programme, do you offer that?

Yes, as I often than not talk about all the specialisms I offer, I am a Level 3 Personal Trainer so I do offer ‘normal’ exercise as not everyone has a pelvic floor or back issue.

Every Tuesday night during school term time I run HCR ® Heat, which is a weekly class aimed to get you hot and sweaty, so you feel like you have had a great workout. We use a combination of bodyweight movements, resistance exercises using resistance bands and weights. It is also pelvic floor friendly as it’s the natural follow on for anyone who has done my HCR ® Everywoman course. I run this via Zoom still for two reasons. Firstly, I haven’t been able to find a venue available locally to me on a Tuesday night since my previous venue shut down and secondly, it’s more convenient for me and my clients as most of us have children and work and so we often struggled to get to the venue. Having it online means you just have to find a small space in your home, pop your gym kit on and turn your device on and there I am! It’s recorded every week so if you miss it, you can catch up later.

I also run a membership, The Blueberry Wellness Hub, which consists of 4 Live classes a week via Zoom, a monthly Rel-Ease class, over 140 + recorded workouts, recipes and women’s wellness advice.

If you want something more high intensity then Athlete 12 is for you. This is a 12 week programme to get you fitter, faster and stronger and starts again on 3rd May at 10:30am and again will be recorded.

I have problems with my bladder, I have no idea if this is something you could help with or if I should go to the doctor instead?

Absolutely I can help with this. When I started training as a Personal Trainer back in 2017, in parallel I started my journey of specialising in pelvic floor and core. I have a number of educational courses in field, I have attended many educational sessions with Women’s Health Physios (WHP), I link up with Women’s Health Physios locally and I live in this world as I myself suffered urinary incontinence after the birth of my daughters and now live with and manage a pelvic injury from childbirth. Once you get in touch, we go through a pre-screening so I can advise you on next steps, whether that’s working with me on a one to one basis, joining a class or seeing a WHP before any work with me. Depending upon your symptoms, I will direct you to my Everywoman programme or POP Support Programme. You can go and see your GP and I will guide you how to get the most out of your appointment and get help through the NHS if going private is not a feasible option for you.

Just read your post about menopause. I think I am peri menopausal but had no help from my GP. Can you help?

Yes I can help as I am not only going through menopause myself but I have spent the last two years studying this area. We would discuss your symptoms, in fact I would encourage you to track them so we can paint a picture of what;s going on. I would then understand what your preferences are to taking, for example HRT. Whatever your preference, whether you want to consider HRT or not, my expertise is around helping you control the controllables in your life, from how you sleep, your hydration, your nutrition, how you move, your stress management as these need to be part of your menopause journey. I run a FREE Facebook group to help women and offer a one to one bespoke Programme for hands on support, Moyler’s Marvellous Menopause.

Do you offer Sports Massage as you talk about Soft Tissue Massage Therapy?

I do. I refer to my services as soft tissue therapy as I target the soft tissues of the body; your muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons with an aim to reduce pain, improve posture, injury recovery and to ease sore, tired muscles.
How is it different to sports massage? Essentially, it’s not, it is just another name for it.

However, in the UK, sports massage therapists are not required to be regulated
by a governing body. Training ranges from fast track weekend courses providing a level 3 qualification, to multiple year long courses which provide much more in-depth training and the therapist will hold a much higher, more holistic qualification.

My Level 3 qualification was a year long and included many hours of hands-on practical training and over 30 case studies.

So the reason I refer to myself as a soft tissue therapist is to differentiate my expertise from someone who did a short course as my knowledge is much deeper.

The other main differentiator is that the course I did was focused on women’s anatomy and physiology as ‘women are not small men’. The journey’s our bodies go through from puberty to menopause are not the same an a man’s. Our hormones change monthly and across our life. So you may request a Sports Massage, but you will get so much more from me.

Have a good look around my new website, as I hope many of the questions you have are now addressed not only in the FAQ section but within my services pages.

If you are not sure which offering is right for you or you have further questions, then why not book a FREE 15 minute Discovery call with me.
