How do I get started?

If you know which of my offerings you want to take up, please book directly on my website.

If there are no dates shown then please add yourself to my waitlist and I will be in touch once dates are scheduled.

If you are unsure which offering is right for you, then I offer a 30 Minute Discovery Call via Zoom which you can book here.

Do you offer a taster session before purchasing a 1-2-1 package?

Following a 30 Minute Discovery Call via Zoom with me, you have the option of purchasing a one-off Women’s Health Assessment session before committing to a package.

This will allow you to experience a flavour of what a training session may involve but will not include any programme design or specific recommendations for future training.

Do I need any equipment?

For personal training sessions, I recommend you purchase resistance bands, a set of dumbbells and a kettlebell to start with. I will advise on this when we meet.

For some courses and classes, you will need a specific kit which again I will advise on, as well as alternatives you may have at home.

I have included a list of kit here which is a great way to get started if you have none

What should I wear?

Wear clothing you feel comfortable in that allows you to move freely and ensure you have a good supportive sports bra. I recommend Smitten ‘Lingerie to Love” in Chichester for bra fittings both day to day and sports. I would also recommend you have a good pair of trainers, especially if you are running. I personally work out at home barefoot and this is an option for you too.

What does a training session consist of?

Prior to our first session, I will request that you complete a Pre-Screen Questionnaire.

We will then go through this form so I fully understand your current health status and your goals which will allow me to programme your sessions and make recommendations bespoke to you.

At the start of each session, I will check how you are feeling and whether I need to be aware of any changes that may impact your ability to train or influence intensity.

Each session starts with a warm-up consisting of dynamic mobility and flexibility work in preparation for the main exercises.

The main session may include a mixture of strength-based exercises, bodyweight exercises and pulse-raising activities, depending upon your goals and your current fitness level.

We will then finish with a cool down which includes stretches and relaxation.

I also encourage feedback and a dialogue throughout your session to ensure you are using good form, and are feeling the intensity but not exhaustion.

Do I need to do anything before I start?

Please ensure upon booking you have filled in the Pre-Screen Questionnaire as thoroughly as you can as this will allow me to best support you and keep you safe. Also, check you have the appropriate clothing and footwear as detailed above.

What happens if I cancel?

For 1-2-1 sessions, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled sessions. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full to the Client.

For courses and classes and The Blueberry Wellness Hub ® 1 month’s notice is required.

Please see my Purchase Terms and Conditions here for full details.

What if I’m on holiday?

Please let me know of any planned holidays or time away. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required.

What if I have an injury?

Please let me know if you have an injury as soon as possible, the circumstances and any self-care or medical treatment you have had so that I can advise on the impact of this for future sessions and for me to factor in any adaptations I need to make to keep you pain-free and safe.

In the event that a medical problem or prolonged circumstance prevents completion of the contracted session within the time period agreed, you may take an extended period of time, not to exceed 1 year, to complete said session.

What is your refund policy?

I always aim to ensure clients are 100% happy with the service I offer. If for any reason you decide not to continue with training, once a training package has commenced, I will refund any outstanding sessions on a pro-rata basis for 1-2-1 sessions.

If you have started a group course or class no refunds will be given. You will be given access to all materials, kit, education and recordings.

Do I need to see a doctor before starting?

Unless your doctor has advised against exercise you can start training.

If you are overweight, exercise is very beneficial for health and can assist with weight management.  If you feel you are unfit, no matter how poor you feel your current level of fitness is, it can be improved through regular exercise. People often worry about things like getting sweaty or breathless or exercise hurting. If you are new to exercise, or haven’t exercised for a long time, you will only train at a low or moderate-intensity to begin with. My aim is for you to leave each session energised and not exhausted!

You are also never too old to start exercising. I only became a Coach at 45 year of age! There are numerous benefits to exercise as we age including improvements in strength and balance, promoting bone health, assisting functional ability for daily living, and helping manage symptoms of diseases and illnesses common in older adults.

You've directed me to see a Women's Health Physio. Why and who are my local ones?

I ask everyone who contacts me, especially if it is related to pelvic health, to complete a Pre-Screening Form. This allows me to provide you the best advice I can as to which service I offer is suitable for you.

I may also direct you, in the first instance, to see a Women’s Health Physio rather than book one of my services. Some of your answers in your screening form will have lead me to feel you need a physio led approach first and I will explain this to you.

A Women’s Health Physio is a physiotherapist who specialists in treating women with incontinence, both urinary and fecal, urinary urgency, prolapse, diastasis recti and pelvic pain.

Women’s Health Physios are available by GP referal through the NHS or privately. There is currently a long wait through the NHS.

There are a number of private Women’s Health Physios locally. If you live outside of my area then feel free to contact me so I can guide you to your local physio.
